Tips for fathers to carry their babies safely:
1. choose the right carrier: there are many different types of carriers and slings on the market. Try out different ones to find the one that suits you and your baby best.
2. learn the right technique: watch tutorials or ask experienced babywearing counsellors to show you how to tie the sling correctly and carry your baby safely and comfortably.
3. start slowly: If you are new to babywearing, start slowly and practise indoors first before venturing outside. This way you and your baby can slowly get used to babywearing.
4. take time for babywearing: Use babywearing not only as a practical solution, but also as a conscious time to build a close bond with your baby. Enjoy the closeness and the moments together by consciously interacting with your baby.
5 Have faith: Trust that as a dad, you can do babywearing just as well as a mum. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about building a loving and supportive relationship with your baby.
